SOS Chrétiens d’Orient is multiplying projects that promote the Christian identity and heritage of the Middle East, in order to allow the populations to continue to live in their land. The aim is to provide humanitarian assistance and sustainable development, which are more effective than one-off distributions with a more limited impact.
After meeting emergency needs, our volunteers must help the population to overcome their situation of vulnerability. Rehabilitation, reconstruction and resettlement are essential to help victims rebuild their future.
These periods of latency are an opportunity to identify the causes of vulnerability and to prevent future crises through sustainable and rooted development. As with health and education, social, cultural and economic rootedness is a powerful factor in resilience.
