Countries that have experienced recent conflicts are at high risk of being hit by epidemic diseases and deficiencies. In addition, there are people who have been injured as a result of war, including bombing or shooting at civilians.
Our aim is to provide care for the sick while increasing the resilience of displaced or refugee populations. In order to compensate for the weak capacity of the countries of intervention in terms of health systems, SOS Chrétiens d’Orient is developing support mechanisms at national and local levels in order to help the most vulnerable populations, in particular refugees or displaced persons. The association has strengthened or rehabilitated the infrastructure of existing health centres.
SOS Chrétiens d’Orient also independently finances mobile pharmacies and infirmaries, medical cabins, as well as the purchase of health equipment and medicines.
SOS Chrétiens d’Orient has provided medicines worth a total of €3 million to Syrian hospitals.
